Let all the parents stand up in a big circle and join them in it. Do an introducing round and ask about their expectations for this workshop. Tell them that this workshop is the first of two and that today you will start with some basic information about the grow of children.

You give every parent a print of a crystal ball  (if you can’t print you can just draw them). Ask them if they know what a crystal ball is. If they don’t know, tell them. It is something to look into the future with (not real but in cartoons and movies). They all can write in the crystal ball how they want their child’s future to look like. Discuss this and make a conclusion, probably that every parent wants the best for their child.
