Print or draw the tools from the download in the bottom and cut them so they look real. You can use a (shoe)box to put the paper tools in, or even a real toolbox if you have one.
Open the toolbox of new authority. On the tools we take out you can read the words. While you read the words, give them some more information about it:
- Authenticity: always be yourself and support your own decisions
- Presence: spend time together with your child
- Environment: you are not alone, ask family and friends to help if necessary
- Transparency: be predictable in your actions
- Openness: have an open attitude when your child does something or tells you something.
- Non violent care
- Use authority without forcing
- Define the goals clearly, so your child knows what to expect from you
- Forge the iron when it is cold: it’s a saying that means you better let your kid cool of before you go and talk about the situation.
- Respect your child: you don’t need to win, you need to sustain
- Vigilant care: three most important topics
- Alertness: pay attention to the behavior of your child
- Presence: you just being their already gives a sign to your child that you want to help
- Protection: when you think your child is in danger you have to act on it.
